Jorge Rafael Robert-Saavedra (pen name: J. R. Robert-Saavedra) was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico. He is an alumnus from the University of Notre Dame (BBA in Financial Management) and the California State University - Stanislaus (MBA Program). Mr. Robert lived three years in Germany and one in South Korea. After 27 years of service he retired from the Department of Defense. One of his last assignments was as an International Audit Manager where he traveled extensively overseas. He is also retired as a Captain from the U. S. Army Reserves with 32 years of service, six and a half in active duty. From 1998 to 2007 Mr. Robert worked as an efficiency consultant to the federal government. He presently works as a Realtor. Mr. Robert published his poetry book “Poems by El Capitan” in 2012. Jorge volunteers in various local civic associations and enjoys the stock market, writing, travel and photography. Much time is now spent with family and friends at sidewalk cafes.
